Francis Barron ("Tim") McElroy, 80,

died September 21, 2010 in Atlanta, GA.

Born on August 27, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA, the only child of Clayton McElroy, Jr. (1898 - 1966)
and Dolores Barron McElroy (1909 - 1945). Tim's stepmother, Zelia Zigler McElroy (1903 - 2005),
served as his mentor later in life. He lived in the Philadelphia area his entire life until he moved to Atlanta, GA in 2003.

Tim attended Episcopal Academy in Merion, PA and graduated from The Hill School, Pottstown PA in 1949.
He attended the University of Pennsylvania graduating in 1954 and was a member of the Zeta Psi Fraternity.
While at Penn, he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, and spent many years in the Air Force Reserve.
Tim married Barbara Conole in 1956. Tim is also survived by his three children, Carolyn (Lyn), David, and Jeff,
his grandchildren, and great-grandchild.

Tim's career spanned several industries, including
'PNB Bank', 'Business Supplies Corporation of America',
and 'Novar Home Security Systems'.

Tim enjoyed horseback riding, technology, singing with the 'Suburban Squires'
and appearing in 'Episcopal Academy Players' productions.
Tim was a master of Pun, Tom Swifty, and word-play.
He enjoyed helping people, and volunteered his time
driving Veterans to their treatment at the VA Hospital.
His wit and good nature will be sorely missed by those of us who loved him.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, November 13th, 2010 for friends and family.

Tim will be laid to rest with his family at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia, PA.
